IBTA Chairman of the Board 2021-2022
In June 2021, Tim Miles, President of FiberHawk, became the chairman of the IBTA board. Miles’ term as board chairman will last for the next two years. The Indiana Broadband and Technology Association (IBTA) is a non-profit trade association representing Indiana’s Broadband and Technology industry. Members include 28 local competitive wireline and wireless companies and over 40 companies that supply goods and services to broadband and technology companies. The IBTA advocates and works to influence political decisions for their members as well as enhance broadband throughout Indiana.
Additionally, the IBTA administers a trade show, the Great Lakes Technology Showcase, in cooperation with the Ohio Telecommunications Association and the Telecommunications Association of Michigan, held in late October each year. This trade show includes over 100 exhibit booths featuring the latest offerings in products and services from the telecommunications industry along with an educational program filled with industry speakers. The Great Lakes Technology Showcase draws over 600 professionals from Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, and Illinois. The IBTA also hosts seminars and conferences on various educational topics as needs or issues arise.
About five years ago we began our quest to convert our copper and coaxial plant to fiber. At that time, we decided to change our name as we slowly went down the path of overbuilding the network. The name we decided on is FiberHawk.
I realize that we are not finished with the completion of the upgrade, but we felt it was right time for rebranding and moving forward.
Starting in 2021 all our advertisements, bills, correspondence, etc. will be as FiberHawk.
Please understand that it is JUST a name change. There is no change in ownership, employees, or service. Please use the name FiberHawk for Swayzee Telephone Company, Yeoman Telephone Company, Swayzee Broadband, Swayzee Wireless, and Swayzee Communications.
FiberHawk is continuing to build our fiber network as quickly as possible. We will also be improving our website and communication options for our current and future customers.
Green is the color of hope, renewal, and well-being. “Green Light” is also a term commonly used to activate forward movement. America’s veterans are some of nation’s bravest, hardest-working men and women. However, its hard to show them the appreciation they deserve when, back home and out of uniform, they’re more camouflaged than ever. Greenlight a Vet is a campaign to establish visible national support for our veterans by changing one light to green.
FiberHawk is joining the movement to honor our nation’s Veterans through the Greenlight A Vet Campaign. Stop in our office and pick up a green light bulb. Change one light in a visible location in your home or office to green. Keep it glowing all day, everyday as a symbol of our appreciation and support for our veterans.

Visit to Ericsson Headquarters in Kista, Stockholm, Sweden
As one of FiberHawk’s vendors, Tim and Toni Miles visited Ericsson headquarters in Kista, Stockholm, Sweden. Along with their friends, Anna and Petter Grape of Åkersberga, Sweden,Tim and Toni were given an informational tour of Ericsson’s Studio by Jon Gamble. Not only did Mr. Gamble give the history of the company, but also talked about the innovations and developments in technology in connecting the world including 5G.
2016 IBTA Telephone Company of the Year
The Indiana Broadband and Telecommunications Association has announced the selection of Swayzee Communications / Yeoman Telephone Company as the IBTA 2016 Telephone Company of the Year.
Tim Miles, president and CEO, has led the company in recent years to build a partnership with Rochester Telephone Company and Verizon to provide Cellular services to North Central Indiana growing a whole new customer base. This past year, Tim and Toni Miles purchased Yeoman Telephone growing the family of companies and bringing the promise of fiber to the home to their customers in Yeoman, Swayzee, and all of their territories..
The company continues to push new technology and enhanced services to their Hoosier customers.
